Sammy's Law, is a California Legislative Assembly Bill that is being considered and some criminal justice and human service professionals are becoming mindful of what Sammy's Law would entail and the advantages and disadvantages of having audio recordings of parent interviews for parents accused of child abuse. We will begin to look at the pros and cons to provide an outlook and perspective of how Sammy's Law will affect the industry as a whole. Should Child Protective Services (CPS) caseworkers have to audibly record parents who are under investigation for child abuse or are privacy factors at bay especially for parents that are innocent?
